Registered speakers are required to call-in and enter the conference ID# at 6:30PM on Monday, October 12, 2020. Students in kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grades have been attending classes face-to-face five days a week since Sept. 21, under the district’s Plan B model. Members of the team include school counselors, psychologists, nurses, school administrators, and more, who want to help guide conversations around any concerns or questions as students return to school.
Check back often to stay informed of important dates such as school holidays, early-release days, governing board meeting dates, and more. Registration forms are limited to one (1) per person. *1-day/week hybrid begins in Grades K-2 (includes Classroom Support Program, or CSP, students up to 5 days/week in those grades), November 4 1-day/week hybrid begins in Grades 3-5 (includes CSP students up to 5 days/week in those grades)
In addition, at the Board meeting last night, discussions included that parents/guardians may notify their teacher/school if they would like their child to continue virtual learning at home. In accordance with Board policy, if the number of speakers impede the ability of the Board to complete scheduled business, the Board reserves the right to reduce the amount of time allotted per speaker, or overall time allotted for public comment.

We have faced staffing difficulties in the Learning Support Centers and know that moving your child’s start date to October 12 will allow us to best support them as they return to the school building, with their own teacher, in their own classroom. Tomorrow, Tuesday, November 3, 2020, schools and offices closed for Election Day. Data are limited, making it difficult to precisely define “close contact;” however, 15 cumulative minutes of exposure at a distance of six (6) feet or less can be used as an operational definition for contact investigation. Any schedule adjustments will be communicated via hcps.org and HCPS social media channels.
