I believe the Iowa flag is poorly designed.

My redesign takes elements from the state nicknames “Big Sky Country” and the “Treasure State”, and also makes reference to the motto “Oro y Plata”, Spanish for “Gold and Silver”. The eagle of the original flag however would violate the 'no generic US symbols' rule so its been replaced with a … It would be monstrous to change the flag. The only drawback to this is that the flag looks a lot like the French flag.
