I don’t remember the name. It may be known by a another name, which case, I am not familiar with it. If I’m targeting a fish that I believe I can catch with 10 lb line (which is what I typically use), I’ll use a 10lb to 20 lb mono line as backing before tying the 10 lb braid to it with the FG knot.

I see that there is some misinformation out there on the internet, stating that the hangman’s knot and the uni-knot are the same, but that is not true. I’ve tested that before… the uni is better then the figure 8. The “Knotless Knot” Is the strongest for tying hooks that I’ve ever tried.
