To echo Mike the SP101 is a fantastic gun and we will certainly review it eventually. Loaded with a hot .38 Spl and with two .357 Magnum reloads, I would never feel under-gunned. I’m in a neighboring state, where we contend with all the same big predators you do, and I mtn bike a lot. If I didn’t know better you could tell me this gun cost a third more than that and I’d probably believe you. I carry the 101 daily, great all purpose firearm.

As the trigger moves forward it gets lighter and lighter, and after the audible/tactile click it is very, very close to nonexistent, so if you’re feeling for a lack of resistance rather than a click, you’ve found it…but you still have to let off the trigger just a bit more.

I feel that the standard pressure Critical Defense beats out the HST without much issue for exactly the reasons you stated, but the averages the same or less penetrations and doesn’t expand as well.

Took some artwork to gets the pull smoother without stacking. Actually I’m surprised it’s not the other way around since the longer cylinder will result in more free-bore (longer leade). I can find no major holster company fitting this gun correctly at this time. Multiple weights, velocities, types of bullets, and two different cartridges. I’ve never liked snakes.

Steel is way too heavy for my method of carry. AR-15 Military Classics. Having enough ammo left over from the Python review, I was able to shoot it a pretty good amount.

A number of years ago Massed Ayoob commented on mine and the ivory grips I had on my 1911. I hope you keep in mind the effort Colt has went through to deluge me with wheel guns to satisfy your demands for more, more, more. Fuck, now you have me wanting another wheel gun.
