While I saw a lot of my “on the spectrum” 12-year-old in Mr. Failure, in terms of her being smart enough to see through the pageantry of modern life and being intellectually above most of her peers. Didn’t know there was a World Laughter Day. Total is quite the character — you fall in love with this imaginary bear!

Timmy is a kid with his own detective agency, co-founded with a polar bear. And that he was the only one playing along with his imagination/fantasy. She and a few other characters made the film watchable .The main character, Timmy, was completely unlikable though.

The film can have a bit of a problem with pacing at times, and several eye-roll like moments throughout, but it does have its moments. This is a very effective movie all around. Basically, this is a emotional drama that is trying to be cute while dealing with loss (a parent leaves by choice) and fear of future, but this entire fictional bizarre story is a bit slow and not that funny as you might think. Take your favorite fandoms with you and never miss a beat. His last name was once Fayleure, but someone changed it to Failure. Although its wild premise is still mildly enjoyable, Timmy Failure suffers most from being too similar to other films of its kind, and not having much to show for itself. Awards Timmy is socially inept in his interactions with other characters — Weevil Bun, Rollo Tookus, and Jimmy Weber. This movie is no failure. The film is peppered with strong supporting turns from the likes of Wallace Shawn as an understandably overwhelmed principal and Craig Robinson as a sympathetic school counselor, and the film never attempts to justify Failure’s more self-destructive behavior.

Cute, quirky kid and his bear on the case! All the drawings in here are by me. I usually enjoy most Disney movies, even as an adult, but I really disliked this movie. We can all do with a bit more humour I think and, with World Laughter Day coming up on 3 March, it’s perfectly timed. While the budget feels small and it feels like a movie that was made for television, it's also far better than I was expecting and I kind of wish kids had the chance to see this one on the big screen. Even if the intent of this original film is noble, a lot of its charm is lost in translation to the big screen.
